So it is my birthday today. 33. Ouch. But I am happy this year is over. It has been a crappy year. The worst I have had to deal with. But as I write this, sitting in Montreal on vacation, I know that even though there might be some up and downs ahead, I should be pretty grateful for a lot of things. And I am. And there are people out there who have helped me forge ahead through the crap, and I am so grateful for them. The perfect coffee chat/bitch session partners.
But every year I always buy myself a treat. And this year, I love my present to myself. While doing the Contact Festival gallery circuit in Toronto, I came across this photograph at a gallery named Propeller. It was part of the Maximum Exposure exhibit of Ryerson students. And well, I had to have it. So after much budget calculations (I like doing my budget, a lot), I bought the photograph. The artist is Imma Gobunquin, and it is two men chatting it up on a bench at Coney Island. Two random men, having a questionable conversation, while at the beach....of course I love it.
And see the little red dot...that is because of me!
So I am off to enjoy the rest of the day in rainy Montreal. Take care out there...xo
